ASBESTOS

Asbestos is a group of hazardous naturally occurring mineral fibers used primarily in building and manufacturing materials due to their heat resistance and and anti-corrosion properties. Despite common belief, this is not a banned substance and is continually used in materials today.

Disturbance of these asbestos-containing materials, typically through building or home renovations (demolition, repair, remodel), may release tiny asbestos fibers into the air. Once airborne, these particles may be breathed in into the lungs. Increased exposure can lead to lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis among other health related issues.

Anchorpoint provides AHERA Certified Building Inspectors to conduct Asbestos Survey Testing.

MOLD

Mold exists naturally in the environment around us, both indoors and outdoors. It becomes a problem when it starts to grow indoors affecting the air quality of the building. This happens when both water and oxygen are present with mold spores and organic material. The mold spores released during the life cycle of mold that allow it to spread and row, can be allergenic and toxic. The infamous Stachybotrys chartarum, or more commonly referred to as “black mold”, is one such example of a mold that can produce toxins that affect health.

Anchorpoint provides NAMP Certified Mold Inspectors to conduct inspection and testing of your business or residential property for the pressence of mold and possible causes.
